"A leading pro-life law firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a baby born alive after a failed abortion at a Miami abortion business. Following Shanice Denise Osbourne's birth in July 2006, staff at the abortion facility put her body on the roof of the building to hide her death from local police.
According to witnesses, a young woman went to the GYN Diagnostic Center abortion facility in Hialeah, outside Miami, for an abortion.
Police say the 18-year-old had an abortion and returned the next day complaining of severe stomach pains.
Abortion facility staff told her the abortion practitioner was not available and that she would have to wait. After being taken to a waiting area, the woman allegedly gave birth to the baby that she thought had been aborted the day before.
Officials hid the baby's body when local officials investigated. ...
...The firm retained an investigator and expert pathologist and, after examination of the autopsy slides and investigation of all the facts, they say the acts and omissions of the abortion practitioner and clinic staff were causative factors in Shanice's untimely death. ...
"This case will trumpet to the world that abortion clinics are places of barbarism where mothers as well as their babies are at serious risk," he says.
"Moreover, this case should put some sharp teeth into the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. As we struggle to end the scourge of legal abortion in this country, we must hold the line against infanticide," he adds."

This is terrible. Welcome to the Obama era...it's only getting worse.
so true... welcome to 'Obamaland' - but dare I ask - How low can they go? (hiding a dead baby on a roof...) can you go lower than that???
oh my god are they so obsessed with this crap they cant even read anymore!!! rightklik, red voice this occured in 2006!! whats that got to do with our current pres? get in the game...
Ok... deac63
First of all, a pro-life law firm has just filed a lawsuit on behalf of this baby born alive (Feb 2008) - that is why it is CURRENT news, sadly the state attorneys' office has had this matter "under investigation" for more than two years.
Second of all, The Born-Alive Infants Protection Act ("BAIPA" Pub.L. 107-207, 116 Stat. 926, enacted August 5, 2002) is an Act of Congress. It extends legal protection to an infant born alive after a failed attempt at induced abortion. Again BAIPA was enacted in 2002, and this baby was born alive in 2006. The abortion facility staff and providers broke the law, and then tried to HIDE their crime by HIDING the baby on the roof. That is sick!!
Why does this relate to Obama? A package of Born Alive bills was introduced three times during Obama's tenure. And Obama voted "no" each time to not allow protection for these abortion survivors.... this is why I say welcome to Obamaland as his record has clearly demonstrated he is against providing protection and help for these born alive abortion survivors.
You're the one that needs to "Get in the game" & learn the facts -
Here is some information and facts about Obama's record from Jill Stanek's site (go to this link for all references & transcripts)
"2001

Transcript of Obama's verbal opposition to Born Alive on the IL Senate floor, April 4, 2002, pages 28-35
Obama's "no" vote on the IL Senate floor, April 4, 2002
Listen to audio from Obama's 2002 IL Senate floor debate wherein he argued that while babies might be aborted alive, it would be a "burden" to a mother's "original decision" to assess and treat them.
Meanwhile, the federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act with a "neutrality clause" added passed the U.S. Senate 98-0, the U.S. House overwhelmingly, and was signed into law August 5, 2002. The pro-abortion group NARAL expressed neutrality on the bill.
2003
Senate Bill 1082, Born Alive Infant Protection Act
Democrats took control of the IL Senate with the 2002 elections. This year Born Alive was sent to the Health & Human Services Committee, chaired by Barack Obama.
As can be seen on the vote docket, Obama first voted to amend SB1082 to add the "neutrality clause" from the federal version of Born Alive to the IL version to make them absolutely identical. (DP#1 means "Do Pass Amendment #1.)
Then Obama voted against the identical version. (DPA means, "Do Pass as Amended.)
Additional corroboration of Obama's vote: IL State Senate Republican Staff Analysis of SB 1082, March 12-13, 2003, bottom of page 2
For 4 years following his 2003 vote Obama misrepresented it, stating the wording of the IL version of Born Alive was not the same as the federal version, and he would have voted for it if so. As recently as August 16, 2008 Obama made this false assertion.
But when evidence presented was irrefutable, Obama's campaign on August 18, 2008, admitted the truth to the New York Sun.
The nonpartison group FactCheck.org has since corroborated Obama voted against identical legislation as passed overwhelmingly on the federal level and then misrepresented his vote."
