Volition

This is a very powerful Pro-Life short movie I just watched this morning. I encourage everyone to watch it!! It is so worth it. This movie basically summarizes and explains why I am pro-life and how I also hope the day comes when we can all see this (abortion) for what it really is.

I am convinced that abortion is wrong, because it is killing an innocent unborn baby - a human being. Therefore I cannot just stand by and do nothing while innocent people are killed. That would be like standing by and doing nothing while an innocent person was lynched or raped. Or it would be like standing by and doing nothing to oppose the evils of slavery in the American South or the massacre of Jews in Nazi Germany. To say, “Hey, that was between them. It was none of my business,” would surely make me … if not actively evil, surely incredibly callous to the sufferings of others. No, I’m sorry, but I don't respect a women's right to exploit and destroy other human beings for their personal benefit. Slavery in the American South was evil and wrong, the holocaust of the Jews was evil and wrong, and Abortion - the killing of millions of innoncent unborn babies - is evil and wrong.

Film Synopsis: "The act of making a choice. Sometimes the choice of inaction has consequences stronger than we could ever imagine. Throughout history, men have been faced with difficult choices in a world that makes it easy for them to conform. This film explores the hope that lies behind every decision made in the face of adversity; the hope that is buried in the heart of those that look beyond themselves and see something bigger worth fighting for."

In an interview with LifeSiteNews.com Tim Morgan, who wrote and directed the film, recounted how the inspiration for the film came to him.

Morgan told LSN that for most of his life, while he had always been "pro-life," he had never given much thought to the issue - that is, until last year when he attended the massive prayer rally, "The Call." "That's when it really hit me, hit my heart," he says, "that there is a need for just some sort of voice in the arts, in the entertainment world, in defense of these unborn babies."

Following his experience at The Call, Morgan came up with the idea for Volition, and wrote the script. But, despite his best efforts to find an investor to finance the film, he was met without success, until he received an unexpected call from The Doorpost telling him that he had been selected as a finalist.

"It was like a door opening out of nowhere," Tim says. "All of a sudden I have this budget for a movie I've been looking to get the budget for."

Volition places its central character, who goes unnamed, in the historical contexts of what the filmmakers clearly believe to be three of the greatest human rights violations in history: the holocaust, slavery, and abortion.

In each of the vignettes the protagonist is placed in a position of some authority, with the promise of more to come, and in each he is forced to the breaking point, where he must either become complicit with the evils of the age, or stand up and make a choice to oppose it. While the viewer is not shown the protagonist's ultimate choice in Nazi Germany or in the American South, the film movingly depicts his choice in regard to the third - abortion.

I've seen this video. It is easily the most ignorant take on the topic I've ever seen. If people are going to make ridiculous garbage like this, they ought to at least post a warning.

Why is this the most ignorant take on the topic?

Why do you call this movie ridiculous garbage?

What the abortion industry has done to women is truly appalling.

There are still plenty of people who do not realize that abortion is the taking of an innocent human life. This procedure kills a whole, separate, unique, living human being.

Abortion mill businesses depend upon covering the truth, not conveying it. Many "pro-choice" advocates would have you believe that having an abortion is merely "emptying ones uterus of a clump of cells." (taken from PP website)

Or that "abortions tickle???"

This is not so. The pictures of aborted babies prove this is not so. Abortion is killing another human being - the act of a helpless child being savagely ripped apart and torn limb from limb, piece by bloody piece from his/her mothers' womb. It should be required that a woman be told of the growing medical consensus that her child could feel pain while undergoing an abortion procedure. Scientific studies show that based on the development of the nervous system of a fetus – a fetus is able to feel pain as early as 8 weeks after conception.

Many claim a fetus is not a human. But I ask you- when exactly does a fetus become a human? At 40 weeks?? At 35 weeks?

Babies have been born and survived at 23 weeks - A new study by British researchers finds that almost half of the babies who are born at 23 weeks into the pregnancy survive the premature birth. A study of premature babies at University College Hospital London found that 42 per cent of those born at 23 weeks survived. At 24 weeks, the time limit for abortions for non-medical reasons, 72 per cent of babies survived.

So does a fetus become a human at 23 weeks because they have been able to survive & be autonomous at 23 weeks? 22 weeks and six days they are a blob of cells – but at 23 weeks, they “magically” become a human being?? Unborn babies who are wanted are babies and humans, but those babies that are not wanted are somehow classified as nonhuman? How does that make any sense?

I can show you scientist after scientist who has proved life begins at conception. Abortion is murdering another human being and this is true because of the scientific facts. Abortion does not remove some part of the women’s body; it destroys the body of a separate, unique individual.

This is what abortion is and the more women and society know what it all entail the more empowered women and society can become.

Women are suffering greatly from abortions, and so are men.

In this movie, abortion is compared with other evils against humanity - i.e. the evils of slavery in the American South or the massacre of Jews in Nazi Germany. We either become complicit with the evils of the age, or stand up and make a choice to oppose it.

The fight for life has always been a tough fight and it is not an easy one, because they have covered the truth and have made it so convenient to get rid of babies and kill them for convenience. It is the blunt truth that so many pro-choice advocates do not want to hear nor think about.

The truth is really that hard. "But the truth is never inconsequential. It's always here. There are people who will try to corrupt it, pervert it, derail it, taint it, but the truth is the truth. It will prevail. Truth is its own defense and it is a complete defense."
