"According to Drudge, reporters from the New York Post, Washington Times, and Dallas Morning News -- all papers that endorsed John McCain -- are being asked to move out by Sunday to make room for "network bigwigs," documentary filmmakers, and possibly reporters from two black magazines, Essence and Jet.
Robert KnightBob Knight, director of the Culture and Media Institute, says this is a clear attempt by the Obama campaign to control the press image at all costs. "I think this will hurt Obama because it looks as if he can't take any heat," he says.
Knight suggests the expelled journalists, instead of following the campaign's script, may have just been doing their jobs. "Maybe these reporters asked some tough questions about him appearing to support traditional marriage at the same time opposing the Defense of Marriage Act and Prop. 8 in California," says the family activist. "Maybe they asked about his extreme votes on abortion and his plans for the abolition of all laws regarding abortion. Perhaps they asked him about what kind of judges he'd appoint.
"I think the Obama campaign is so smug, so used to a free ride, that they feel they're free to throw anybody off the bus that doesn't sing the same tune," he concludes."
